Sarah van Gelder

Sarah van Gelder is co-founder and editor-at-large of YES! Magazine. Sarah led the development of YES! from a scrappy start-up operating out of a basement to a publication that is nationally recognized for leading-edge solutions to the major ecological and human challenges of our times. The magazine has won national awards for its leadership in covering such topics as the cooperative economy, mass incarceration, neighborhood sustainability, and personal resilience. Sarah has interviewed Pete Seeger, George Shultz, Fania and Angela Davis, Desmond Tutu, Naomi Klein, Ralph Nader, and Tom Goldtooth.

She is currently writing a book about what she found entitled, The Revolution Where You Live, to be published by Berrett Koehler. Sarah also writes columns and articles in Huffington Post, the Guardian, Alternet, and elsewhere, and speaks internationally and as a guest on radio and television programs across the country.
